The artwork I sell comes in different formats, each one has been picked to ensure quality and value for money.

  • A4 unmounted prints
  • A4 mounted prints
  • A4 mounted and framed prints
  • A3 mounted and framed prints

Currently I print and frame my own work, using premade frames and precut mount boards to accommodate A4 and A3 prints, but I can also supply a variety of other sizes and mediums, details of which can be found below.

Monitor Calibration

I calibrate the colours on my monitor every month using a View a Datacolor Spyder5pro on Amazon, this ensures that the image I’m working on is as close as possible to the final image printed.

Photoshop proofing colours

In tandem with the monitor calibration I make all my edits and adjustments using the appropriate colour profile for my view a Canon Pro-100s printer on Amazon, which uses an 8-ink dye based system for gallery-quality prints, and the various paper types that I print on.  Again this is to ensure that the print quality matches the colour and the output to my monitor.

Paper

To ensure that I’m getting the best possible print I only use genuine canon photo paper.  I have a preference for the Pro Lustre paper as it gives crisp clean colour rich results without the glare of a high gloss paper.  However, saying that I also use Pro Platinum as this again gived very high quality results.

I am constantly exploring different papers and methods of printing, the current test medium is a 260gsm glossy paper on a 8 meter roll.  This will be used for panoramic landscape prints and some of my more creative art.

Mounts

All the mounts I use are purchased from the same art supplier.  Its important to me to be consistent with the look and feel of my artwork and the quality of the mount and the way its been cut is a key element.

Frames

Currently I am using premade frames.  They are MDF wrapped in a black laminate with a simple MDF backboard and built in mounting points.  Each frame is inspected prior to it being used, any imperfections and its rejected (these normally would end up on my wall!)

The A4 prints are mount in a 38cm x 30cm frame, and the A3 mounted prints in a 54cm x 45cm frame.

I can source alternatives and I can print via one of the many professional print houses that are available across the UK and Europe.  If you are interested in something different, such as an acrylic block, or printed directly on a fomex board, a wooden board then please contact me as there really isn’t anything I can’t source (given a bit of time!)
